Being and athletic person does not mean that you have to suffer from lack of fashionable attire. Athletic clothing now comes in so many colors and varieties that it is literally the new “little black dress.” Athletic clothes are comfortable and allow for maximum comfort during workouts or outdoor activities. Nike clothing in particular offers one of the largest varieties of athletic and outdoor clothing, allowing for fashion and functionality.

Not all athletic fashion designers can truly give you a well-rounded set of athletic clothing. Nike clothing offers the most well round variety of athletic fashion. Most people do not understand that regardless of the season, you need athletic clothes that are made of breathable materials. Even in the winter time, the most active will still sweat during a workout and without proper ventilation, you will be uncomfortable and offending. So when choosing the proper active wear, you will need to consider your comfort before fashion, however you can have both comfort and remain fashionable.

So many choices are available now when it comes to athletic clothing and it is sometimes hard to weed out the design companies that focus strictly on fashion or strictly on functionality. While both are important, in many cases you will only get one or the other. Choosing a more reputable company that is known for both fashion and function will be sure to provide you with a sound investment in your health and your ever shrinking wallet. Remember, fashion and comfort can work together.

My friend is thinking of making one of the biggest decisions of his life. He’s been eyeing a property in Long Beach that he wants to buy and rent out when he isn’t in town. It’s a great deal, plus with the help of a Long Beach property management company he won’t have to worry about taking care of the place when he is away, keeping the property up to code, or finding renters. I also told him that with Long Beach being such a popular vacation spot, there will be plenty of tourists and travelers looking for a vacation rental as an alternative to a hotel.

Of course, there is a big part of me that’s hoping he buys it for selfish reasons. I am an avid outdoors-man, and would love to visit Long Beach to go fishing, hiking, off roading, and surfing. Long Beach is a prime destination to do this, and with literally hundreds of biking and hiking trails, as well as parks, I would be in heaven. There truly is nothing like being on an adventurous, beautiful trail in the early morning. It’s a great feeling to wake up and get outside.

And, like I’ve been telling my friend, Long Beach truly gives you the best of all worlds: you can hike in the morning, fish in the afternoon at one of the piers (or rent a boat and go out on the water) and surf in the evening. It’s all part of the advantage of being just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Pacific Ocean. What could be better than having a property in a place like this?

It’s still not certain that he’ll buy the property, but with so many outdoor opportunities in Long Beach and throngs of people looking to ditch the confinement of hotels and head to a comfortable house, there is no reason why he shouldn’t.

Ever have the misfortune of wanting to shop at a store and you can’t find it anywhere? No matter what Internet search you try or words you type, that one shop that you know exists doesn’t come up. Sure, you get search results for a store 2,000 miles away or another store that has a similar name but it isn’t the one for which you are looking. I had that experience the other day.

I was driving home from work when I saw a small coffee shop. It was advertising some very yummy pastries and coffee drinks, and I knew I just had to try it out. The problem was when I got home I forgot to write down the name of the store, and when I went to stop at the coffee shop a few weeks later, I couldn’t find it.

Every time I asked my friends or co-workers they would say something around such as “Oh! Have you looked online?.” In this day and age when we depend on the Internet, I had indeed tried looking online. The problem with the Internet and search engines is that unless you are looking up something that is already online or is similar to an existing entry, you don’t get anything. And that was my problem.

While I spent what felt like hours searching the web looking on sites like Facebook, I realized I should try sites like Canada 411. I also realized just how much I miss phone books and directory assistance. With local phone books, there’s no chance of getting a result for a store in California when I live in New York.

I still haven’t found that cute little shop. Boy, do I miss the days of simplicity and order when it came to finding information.

If you like swimming and scary movies, then Swimfan is for you. Swimfan came out in the movie theaters in 2002 and is about a young boy who was once addicted to drugs. He ends up turning his life around with the help of his girlfriend and becomes a competitive swimmer.

He becomes the best swimmer on the team and even has college scouts coming to watch him swim. He seems to have everything that boys dream of. Now enters a transfer student that has taken a liking to the main character. This transfer student ends up becoming his biggest fan, even going so far as to seduce him. He at first tries to tell her that he’s taken, but then he gives in and ends up having a one night stand with her.

While they both agree afterwards that it was a one-time thing, she slowly begins to stalk him. His job and schoolwork start to suffer, as well as his swimming. It soon escalates and the movie ends with the guy getting the best of his stalker.

If you like creepy movies, then this one is for you. The stalker in the movie is played by Erika Christensen and she does an excellent job of portraying a psycho girl that got dissed by the boy she liked. She shows the viewers what happens when you cross a woman.

This is a good movie because it shows that anything can happen when you play with someone’s feelings. It’s always hard to tell how a person is unless you do them wrong. If you do, then you will see their true colors.

This is an enjoyable movie for those that like to be scared. It is also a good movie to watch on a date night, or even inviting a bunch of friends over for a slumber party.

Sorry NFL football fans, Soccer still rules.
With the NFL football season kicking off recently, American sports fans reached a crescendo of excitement as their favorite sport finally started. Although American’s are stoked about the rebirth of football, their enthusiasm pails in comparison to the excitement of those that follow soccer.
When the World Cup soccer event began in South Africa this past summer, the world stopped and collectively watched the biggest tournament in the world. Soccer might be slow-paced and low scoring, but there is something about the sport that captures the world’s attention.
Maybe it’s the availability of the sport to be played in all regions of the world. Even in the poorest of third-world countries, soccer is available to almost everyone. Even in the poorest countries in the world, soccer players can find a piece of grass, throw out a ball and get started.
Football and baseball are traditionally American sports, although baseball has recently been influenced by a heavy dose of Latin-American players. You would be hard-pressed to find a Brazilian football player in the NFL, or a Russian baseball player in Major League Baseball.
Soccer is worldwide and it’s here to stay. In the Unites States, NFL sports fans stop their activities on Sunday to follow their favorite team. You won’t find a Buffalo Bills fan, dropping everything to watch the Oakland Raiders. When Brazil plays soccer, the entire country stops what they are doing to pay attention to their national pastime.
Although soccer is gaining in popularity in the United States, the world’s pastime will be hard pressed to pass America’s favorite games. Then again, youth soccer programs across the country are jam packed with kids that play soccer on Saturday morning.
There may come a day where a future generation of American’s switches their focus from football and starts paying attention to futbol like the rest of the world.

Baseball is supposed to be America’s pastime, but you wouldn’t know it as the excitement built like a fevered pitch with the approach of the NFL football season.
Baseball used to be America’s favorite sports endeavor, but football has surpassed America’s game and passed it like it was standing still.
Maybe it’s the length of the baseball season. Following a sports team (baseball) over eight months and 162 games can be physically taxing. The NFL’s sports season is slightly less long, five months, but is only played on weekends, and only once per week.
Perhaps it has something to do with our instant-gratification society that can’t or won’t pay attention for 200 straight days while the sports season (baseball), drags from March into October.
Sports fans focus on football might have something to do with moving inside following the completion of Labor Day. During the baseball season, sports fans are out on the lake with their friends and family. Sports junkies, tired from the long winter and spring seasons, typically take a break during the summer months and work on the house or finish that special project they avoided during football season.
It’s no slight to baseball, but in this fast-moving, satisfy me now media society, football is the sports endeavor that is sexier than baseball. Baseball is a slow-moving, low-scoring sport that can only be appreciated by someone who has played the game.
In the sports world of football, something happens on every play. That something is usually a violent collision or a run, throw or catch that captures our imagination in a primal manner.
Baseball and football are two of the most popular sports in the United States. Perhaps baseball needs to end their season before the start of football, or add a wrinkle to their playoff system. Either way, with the start of football, you can bet that baseball will once again be pushed to the back page or back end of your latest Sports Center

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell recently suspended the six game suspension of sports star Ben Roethlisberger to four games. The reduction of games suspended begs the question of does professional sports need to get more aggressive in the punishment of their athletes that do wrong?
Roethlisberger is the latest sports star to be punished for his action. The Pittsburgh quarterback was involved in an, alleged sexual assault scandal. While no charges were filed in court, Commissioner Goodell took a hard stance against one of his sports premier players.
If you watch Sports Center on a regular basis, hearing about the latest sports star arrested for driving under the influence or being involved in a domestic dispute is common.
Earlier this year, sports star Tiger Woods had his dirty laundry aired for allegedly cheating on his wife. While cheating is certainly not a crime, Woods took a beating this season with poor play on the course and a loss of many of his lucrative sponsors.
Sports stars Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds have been accused of taking steroids and tainting their sports with performance enhancing drugs.
The list of sports stars who have been accused of wrongdoing is long and filled with high-profile names. In most cases, these athletes with big bank accounts can afford the best legal representation and typically find themselves free from criminal charges.
For the average person who works an eight hour day and struggles to make ends meet, the news of more sports stars getting off with their unscrupulous behavior is hard to swallow. That average person would likely be dismissed from their job or face serious sanctions if they were to replicate the behavior of the high-profile sports starts.
Perhaps stiffer sanctions are called for. It’s hard to punish a sports star that makes 10 million per year, when a 10-thousand dollar fine is often the worst punishment they may face. Miami dolphins, Miami heat, Tampa bay buccaneers, Tampa Bay lightning, and Florida Marlins, are just a few sports teams in Florida. Check out Florida vacation rentals and enjoy a game of your choice.

U.S. Open tennis commentators Patrick Mcenroe and Pam Shriver tossed around the idea Wednesday that Chris Evert versus Martina Navratilova is the greatest rivalry in the history of sports.
Navratilova and Evert met on numerous occasions in championship finals, and their legacy may be one of the greatest rivalries in modern sports.
On the hardwood, the legendary Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers is undoubtedly one of sports biggest rivalries. The premiere NBA franchises met numerous times in the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s and most recently in the 2010 NBA finals.
On the collegiate hardwood, the sports battle between Duke and North Caroling is probably the fiercest in all of college sports. The two rivals, separated by mere miles, meet on the court twice per year, often with thousands of raucous sports fans in attendance.
In the NFL, many consider the rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears to be the best of all time. The NFC Central rivals have met numerous times, and the rivalry is certainly one of the oldest in modern sports.
Back to tennis, and the sports exploits of Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras get some mention for the greatest rivalry in sports. The two Americans, like Evert and Navratilova battled numerous times, often on big stages, as their rivalry took center stage in the 1990′s. Staying with tennis, and the current battle between Roger Federer and Rafeal Nadal has the potential to become gigantic, although the two haven’t met enough times to call the rivalry legendary.
In baseball, the biggest rivalry in that sports history is that of the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Although New York has won many more championships than the Red Sox, the boys from Boston have played well in recent years, and equaled some of the success of the Bronx Bombers.
Different sports enthusiasts have different opinions as to the greatest rivalry in sports. In team sports, the Boston versus Los Angeles rivalry seems to hold weight with the sheer number of important battles the teams have shared.

Brett Favre did it again.
The legendary sports star held out of training camp for several weeks again, before announcing he was returning for one final season in 2010. If the Minnesota Vikings don’t win sports biggest prize, the Super Bowl, would the aged veteran come back for one more try next year?
Who knows! Favre has held sports fans and sports management hostage on numerous occasions, and guessing what Favre might do is next to impossible.
Several factors will likely play into the decision to continue his sports career. Favre is returning for the 2010-2011 season after off-season ankle surgery nearly forced him to retire. Reports that Favre is “lubricating” his ankle during the preseason have surfaced, and it appears that physical ailments might be the Minnesota Quarterback’s undoing.
A second factor likely to force Favre’s hand is playing quarterback in the NFL, past the age of 40 can be hazardous to one’s health. In last year’s NFC Championship, Favre took a mighty beating from a pumped up New Orleans defense creating a lasting image of the sports superstar limping off the field for what many thought would be his last hurrah.
Favre has captivated the sports world for nearly two decades. More recently, Favre has captivated the sports world with his retiring and un-retiring on several occasions. Favre held his first team, the Green Bay Packers hostage several times, before retiring and then joining the New York Jets. After his stint with the Jets, Favre retired again, only to join the Minnesota Vikings, a bitter rival of his Packer teams.
Sports fans have grown weary of the non-committal Favre. While his exploits on the field have been legendary, the more recent memories of Favre’s indecision have perhaps tarnished the future Hall-of-famer’s legacy.
Favre opened the NFL season Thursday, playing on the road at New Orleans.

About the only time track & field breaks the popularity barrier among big time sports is every four years at the Olympics. Whether it’s Florence Griffith Joyner in the 1988 Olympics or Usain Bolt running wild in Beijing, Unites States sports fans only pay attention when track & field is on the biggest of stages.
It’s probably no coincidence that track & field’s elite events are held in Europe, where sports fans flock by the hundreds of thousands to watch the best sprinters, thowers, jumpers and long-distance specialists sports has to offer.
While the United States hosts only a few elite track meets every year, Europe is chalked full of elite-level meets from June through August. It is not uncommon for 5,000 fans to attend the United States track & field championships. In Europe, it is common for 50,000 fans to pack themselves into a stadium and follow the athletes they love seeing at a weekly event.
It is also not uncommon in the world of sports to see high-level endorsement and appearance fees offered to elite athletes that commit to attending European meets. With large numbers in attendance to see the sports finest athletes, appearance fees of 100-thousand, or higher, are not uncommon.
For the sports best athletes, spending the summer in Europe is just part of the process of being an elite-level athlete. Many track & field athletes spend much of their off-season and early-season training preparing a base of fitness that will carry them through their long outdoor season.
Although high-level track & field officianados like Craig Masbeck have taken control of United States track & field for the past decades, the sport continues to play second fiddle to more popular sports like baseball, basketball and football.
Although track & field becomes one of the more popular sports every four years, many that love the sport wish more attention would be focused on this beautiful and breathtaking activity.

The National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion has released its report on childhood obesity. According to the data, obesity has more than tripled among children in the last 30 years. The prevalence of obesity in children ages six to 11 years is 19.6%, which is up from 6.5% in 1980, and the prevalence of obesity among children age 12 to 19 years skyrocketed to 18.1%, up from 5% in 1980.

It’s no secret that obesity continues to be a growing concern in the U.S., particularly as more children are falling into the categories of being obese and morbidly obese. Obesity is defined as weighing more than 20% over your ideal weight, and morbid obesity is defined as weighing more than twice your ideal weight.

According to the American Heart Association, children are not as fit as they were a generation ago, which can be attributed to several factors, including a sedentary lifestyle brought on by video games and the Internet, as well as the high availability of unhealthy foods, and many children are already exhibiting signs of cardiovascular disease and other related conditions. And while the risk of heart attack and stroke are certainly lower in children than adults, there is significant evidence that the risk factors for these diseases begin in childhood.

Fortunately, the effects of a poor diet, lack of physical activity and cigarette smoking can be erased early on by a healthy diet and regular exercise. It’s up to parents to encourage activity and good food choices now so these healthy habits will be part of their child’s daily routine now and in the future.

Whether your child prefers moderate or vigorous activity, solo activities or team sports, make sure to get him or her involved in regular daily exercise. Even chores count as ways of burning calories. Switch out sugary foods and beverages for healthy choices and incorporate more fruits in vegetables into their meals. And most importantly, emphasize to your children the importance of regular exercise, combined with a healthy diet, and how it is key to maintaining a long and happy life.

Although we have no early records, surely even the first humans enjoyed the health, spiritual and recreational benefits of submerging themselves in water. Our earliest visual records of swimming are Stone Age cave paintings done more than 7,000 years ago in southwest Egypt. Early written references to swimming are found in two of the oldest works of Western literature, the Greek epics the Iliad and the Odyssey, attributed to Homer, written in 8th century B.C.

In 1696, the French writer Melchisédech Thévenot published The Art of Swimming, in which he described a breaststroke similar to the one we use today. This book was became the standard reference for swimming, and one of its many readers was a young American named Benjamin Franklin. In fact, Franklin, an avid swimmer, is credited with the invention of swimming fins. In 1708, the first known lifesaving group began in China. Early swimming clubs (primarily focused on lifesaving) were also formed in Sweden, Holland and Great Britain, and soon similar groups were established all over the world.

By 1844 swimming was well established as a competitive sport in England, but British swimmers used the breaststroke. In a swimming exhibition that year, a group of North American Indian swimmers demonstrated a speedy but unconventional technique that shocked onlookers called “totally un-European.” Europeans shunned the technique for more than 30 years until an Englishman named John Arthur Trudgen reintroduced a variant of the stroke, later known as the front crawl, to the British after he learned it from Native Americans while in South America. The stroke, then called “the Trudgen,” quickly became popular in England and around the world, revolutionizing competitive swimming.

Swimming was an event in the first modern Olympic games in 1896 in Athens. There were three freestyle events, open only to men, and one freestyle event open only to Greek sailors. The swimming competitions were held in the cold waters of the sea (the Bay of Zea, off the Piraeus coast) because organizers were unwilling to spend money to construct an indoor pool.

Women were first allowed to compete in Olympic swimming events in the 1912 Summer Games in Stockholm. Twenty-seven female swimmers from eight nations participated. The Australian swimmer Fanny Durack, in the 100-meter freestyle, won the first gold medal in a women’s Olympic swimming event. The 1912 Summer Olympics are also notable for being the first Games in which electric timing devices were used.

In 1922, the German-American swimmer Johnny Weissmuller became the first person to swim 100 meters in under one minute, using the Australian crawl. Weissmuller, in his 10-year swimming career, won five Olympic gold medals, 52 U.S. National Championships and set 67 world records. His worldwide popularity helped spur interest in swimming as a competitive sport and recreational activity, and the 1920s are regarded as a “golden age” for the sport of swimming. Also in 1922, the American swimmer Sybil Bauer, competing in the 440-meter backstroke, became the first woman to break a men’s world record.

For swimming events at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, pool-lane dividers made of cork were introduced, as well as lines on the bottom of the pool to help orient swimmers.

New York-born Gertrude Ederle became the first female swimmer to complete the 35-mile swim across the English Channel in August 1926. Her swim began at a cape in northern France and ended 14 and a half hours later on the southeast shores of England. Her record held until 1950, when American swimmer Florence Chadwick traversed the Channel from France to England in 13 hours and 20 minutes. The following year, Chadwick crossed the Channel again, from England to France, making her the first female to swim across the Channel in both directions.

In the late 1920s the competitive swimming community began the scientific study of swimming to improve technique. University of Iowa coach David Armbruster devised the underwater observation window and began filming swimmers underwater. The Japanese also used underwater filming to study the mechanics of swimming strokes, and Japanese swimmers excelled at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, winning 12 swimming medals, the most of any country.

Today Annette Kellerman gets only a brief mention in write-ups of 20th century swimming, but in her day she was a worldwide sensation as an athlete, performer and spokesperson for women’s fitness. She deserves a larger place in our history books for the many “firsts” she earned during her remarkable life.

Because of childhood illness, young Annette wore iron braces on her legs. When she was seven a doctor suggested she remove her braces and take up swimming. At age 15 Annette set a world record in the mile. In 1904 she drew crowds when she swam across London’s Thames River—a feat no one, man or woman, had ever accomplished. She was one of the first women to attempt to swim across the English Channel; she tried three times but didn’t finish. Still, she continued to outrace male swimmers in exhibitions throughout Europe.

In major U.S. cities she performed a “water ballet” act in a glass tank, and became the best-paid vaudeville star in the country. Kellerman is now credited with using moves that introduced the sport of synchronized swimming. In Boston she was arrested for “indecent exposure” when she wore a tight-fitting, one-piece swimsuit on the beach—a departure from accepted ladies’ swimwear: a cumbersome ensemble including a dress, bloomers and tights.

Her fame led to a career in the movies, notably as the star of A Daughter of the Gods (1916), the first million-dollar production. The film is also notable for Kellerman’s nude scenes, marking her as the first star to appear nude in a high-budget movie.

She became an advocate for health and exercise, particularly for women, and she wrote the first-ever diet and fitness book, Physical Beauty: How to Keep It. She designed and marketed a popular swimsuit known as the “Annette Kellerman,” now seen as the first modern swimsuit for women.

Kellerman and her husband retired in her native Australia, where she kept fit by swimming daily. In November 1975, she died at age 89, and her ashes were scattered over the Great Barrier Reef, in keeping with her wish to be reunited with the sea.

As football season gears up, office workers, teachers, and football fans across America are lining up their picks for fantasy football. In fantasy football, each participant gets to be the owner of a team. He gets to select a roster of offensive and defensive players based on real-life professional players with the NFL or NCAA. Because the team is imaginary, an owner can pick the quarterback from the Saints and a running back from the Broncos. Once the owner establishes his team, the virtual website hosting the fantasy sport uses real-life statistics from season games to calculate points for owners. The owner who has the most points wins the league.

While there are free fantasy football sites on the Web, many people prefer to join a league with money involved. Usually, the person who wins the league wins the jackpot. The more people who join, the larger the pot. If you’re planning to place your money on the line, you’ll want to use every strategy possible to win. Consulting online sportsbooks can help you know the odds of a certain team or player doing well. Since you’re using real-life statistics, you can expect the sportsbooks to stay up to date on the odds.

You can also watch ESPN or one of the other sports channels to keep tabs on the season. During pre-season, you’ll find information from analysts and commentators speculating on the upcoming games. This can help you as you start to look for star players. You’ll also want to stay abreast of any injuries that occur during pre-season. Changes to a professional team’s roster can also affect your fantasy football odds—some players don’t work well together.

If you plan to play fantasy football and you want to win, take advantage of every resource available, whether it’s over the radio, TV, or Internet, to give yourself the best chance of obtaining your goal.

The economic world has changed quite a bit since the recession hit in 2007 and millions of United States citizens are still trying to figure out different ways to make ends meet each month. Many people are giving up things they love to work longer hours such as swimming, shopping, and the like. This causes people to become depress when they can enjoy their favorite things such as swimming.

With bills coming in from the left and from the right, some folks just do not know where to get the money from to pay them. Thousands of people struggle with debt on a daily basis and the majority of debt can be traced back to problems with credit cards. Credit cards can get a lot of people in trouble economically, especially if they do not know how to properly manage their finances. Credit counseling is an important class, or activity, that everyone should take part in prior to opening up a credit card.

Staying ahead of the game is the best way to avoid getting into debt with a credit card. Always know how much money is going to come in each month and how much has to go out prior to charging expenses to that credit card. A credit counseling course will teach credit card holders what it is like to manage a credit card balance, what interest rates will do to a credit score, how to check a credit score and so much more.

Taking one of these classes can make a world of difference for a first time credit card holder. It can even help a current credit card holder who seems to be lost when it comes to managing the account and having enough money each month to pay the bill without going into debt or accruing interest on the account. No one credit card holder is considered a lost cause so if you need help; get help. It is the only way you will be able to fix a problem.

One of the things that many people have come to enjoy is online sports betting. Why is this becoming so popular? Mainly because there are so many people who are already avid sports fans and they love to follow their favorite teams, and even follow other teams. They know a lot about the game, whether it is soccer, tennis, golf, football, baseball, basketball, or what have you, and they feel an investment in what happens to the sport, the teams, and the players. It’s only natural that these avid fans might want to make a financial investment in what they have already invested in in terms of time and emotion.

When you bet money on your favorite team or any team, for that matter, the interest and excitement in watching them play, in monitoring their progress, in following their ups and downs tends to matter even more. If you want to get involved in sports betting, you’ll want to get some tips before you begin. To get you started consider the following tip, try betting on longshots. This is often the best way to make the greatest gains for your dollar. The reasons are not complicated. In fact, whoever is favored to win is where most people put their money, so that means there is a large part of money heading in that direction, and thus the odds get shortened on the favorites. To keep from losing money, sportsbooks will offer odds that sound astronomical when really the odds are not that great against the underdog. For example, they might list the odds as 70 to 1, when in actuality the odds are closer to 20 to 1. When you bet longshots, you usually lose some money, but when one of the bets does come through, you win so big that it can more than cover all the previous losing bets.

Let’s face some facts, here. Every cruise is going to be different from the others you could take. No two cruise offers could ever be identical, even if they happen to be in the same area at the same time. So obviously, you are going to have a pretty tough time in deciding where you want to go, and what kinds of things you want to see when you take a cruise. And if you happen to be on the fence right now about whether or not to take one, you should go for it. It’s a reasonably priced, all inclusive way to see a large amount of a particular place.

A lot of people think that all cruises just go to literal “hot spots” like the Caribbean. This simply could not be further from the truth. Truth be told on the matter, that is just one of the types of places you can go, in just about every kind of climate zone that you can think of. You can go on a river cruise, like they have all throughout Europe, and see the countryside go by from your cabin — which is in a temperate zone. Or you can go up North (or down South) to the point where you can see glaciers all over the place. Alaskan cruises are pretty sweet, if you don’t mind staying inside primarily (unless you end up on one of those freaky ones where the temperature is 60 degrees… and you’re wearing the biggest coat you can find).

And getting back to those European river cruises, keep in mind that any large body of water can be cruised in. There are Black Sea cruises, cruises all throughout the rivers of Europe (with tons of them in the Rhine River), and even cruises in the Great Lakes in the US and Canada. Cruise anywhere!
